In it we find Professor Aronnax and his daughter Conseil, and a sailor named Ned Land on a sea journey to find a mysterious and dangerous sea monster that the government believes is threatening the seas. The trio comes into contact with Captain Nemo in his submarine, the Nautilus. They are taken captive and destined to become part of a journey that spans the continents--20,000 leagues or roughly 69,047 miles. During this journey they discover the true nature of the "monster".
