Where Do I Start?

Here are a few things to think about before meeting with Silver Street Media...

  • Do you have print-ready files or do you need design services?

    Do you have complete pdfs ready to print, or do you need someone to help put your book together? BNB Design Services can help you with any file prep if you’re unsure how. You don’t have to be a computer expert to self-publish!

  • Paperback or hardcover?

    Do you want a paperback book, hardcover book or perhaps both?

    If hardcover, what kind?

    If you choose a hardcover binding, do you want a printed image on a hardcover book, or do you prefer a cloth cover? Simple stamping & several cloth colors are available. SSM also offers dust jacket printing and application.

  • What size book?

    What size do you want the final printed pages to be? Standard trim sizes range from around 5 x 8 to 8.5 x 11. We can accommodate many different trim sizes.

  • Do you want your book printed in color or monochrome?

    Do you want your book printed in color or monochrome (black & white)? If the book has any color, you’ll need to print entirely in color.

  • Value or Quality?

    Is your biggest consideration the cost of printing or quality of printing?

    SSM offers Standard and Premium printing options.

  • What kind of paper?

    We have white and cream paper stocks in several weights, with samples readily available. We can offer recommendations based on your book content.

  • What kind of lamination?

    Lamination is the protective plastic film applied to printed covers and dust jackets. We offer gloss (shiny & reflective) and matte (buttery soft). Samples are available to compare.

  • Would you like to sell online?

    SSM can list your book for sale on www.silverstreetmedia.com and/or amazon.com. If you would like to sell your book, SSM can also lend you an ISBN. You are welcomed to use the ISBN for as long as you self-publish with Silver Street Media.

  • What's your timeline?

    When do you want your final book in hand? SSM's production schedule is flexible. Please keep in mind that our busiest times are summer and the winter holiday season and turn times may be longer.
