The Medical Side of Benjamin Franklin

Within the book are detailed letters written by Franklin, initiated by him or in response to letters he received requesting his medical opinions, between the years (circa) 1725 to 1790. In these he discusses the pressing issue of his time, of which smallpox plays a major role, along with measles, flux, and yellow fever. On smallpox he write to Samuel Johnson (of Stratford, CT, and Philadelphia) that it "spreads apace and it is now in all quarters."
