By: Sun Yat-sen

In the preface to this work first published in 1922, Sun Yat-Sen posits, "Unless the Chinese question can be settled peacefully, another world war greater and more terrible than the one just past will be inevitable." In order to solve the "Chinese question", he suggested that the vast resources of China be developed internationally under a socialistic scheme both for the good of the world in general and the Chinese people in particular. It was his hope that such a scheme would abolish the prevalent spheres of influence of the time and that the class struggle between capital and labor could be avoided. Sun Yat-sen presents his solutions for the three great world questions: the International War, the Commercial War and the Class War. Includes details of six programs plus appendices. Illustrated with maps. Originally published by the China Cultural Service in Taipei. Sun Yat-sen (1866-1925) was a Chinese revolutionary and political leader. As the foremost pioneer of Republican China, Sun is frequently referred to as the Father of the Nation. While considered one of the greatest leaders of modern China, his political life was one of constant struggle and exile. Sun's chief legacy is his development of a political philosophy known as the "Three Principles of the People."
