Kinston, Whitehall, & Goldsboro

In December 1862 during the American Civil War, the Union launched an expedition into North Carolina to capture the Wilmington and Weldon Railroad Bridge and the destroy the Confederate naval vessel, CSS Neuse. This expedition resulted in three engagements: The Battle of Kinston; The Battle of White Hall; and The Battle of Goldsboro.
